What learning looks like in Little Doves.

Welcome to the Spring term!

This is the prettiest of the terms, we love watching our flowers around the garden grow, notice the changes that happen and the different colours of the flowers. We like to water them and look after them, smelling them, especially the lavender. We also start to plant lots of fruit and vegetables ready for us to eat in the summer term. We will investigate ice by looking at arctic animals inside ice, working out how we can get them out, noticing how when the ice melts it forms water in the bottom of the water tray. We will use winter themed mark making activities and fluffy paint snowmen this helps us to practice our fine motor skills by putting different features on the snowman. We will learn about the different types of clothes we need to wear in the winter to keep us warm and be practicing putting our own coats and wellington boots on. Outside we love to jump in puddles, fill and empty watering cans from the drainpipe, we also water the garden, make more puddles to jump in and listen to the sound of the rain on our umbrellas. We are looking forward to tiny tales and tunes who will be coming in to do a session on 'Dear Zoo' for us.

The books we will be reading are;

  • 'Winter.'
  • 'Snow Bear'
  • 'Owl babies'

Spring learning so far!
