Pumpkin Trail

Thank you to all our families who took part in our spooky pumpkin trail. The children made some fantastic pumpkins and they were very excited when they found their hidden pumpkin on the trail!

Celebrating Diwali

Everything Christmas!

The children have been getting very festive this Christmas. They have loved our Elf workshop, where they go to design and make toys before wrapping them and popping them in Santa's sack. Then they jump in the sleigh and deliver all the presents.

Stickman

Our text this half term has been 'Stickman' by Julia Donaldson. The children have enjoyed playing with the props and retelling the story. They also took a visit to our Wildlife area to collect their own sticks to make their very own Stickman.

Chinese New Year

The children have loved learning about the festivities and celebrations of Chinese New Year. They have worn traditional dress, used traditional crockery and chopsticks and tasted a range of Chinese food. They also made lanterns and dragon puppets and even made their very own dragon head and joined in a dragon dance for our party.

Pancakes!

Down on the Farm

The children have loved getting to grips with our Farm topic this half term. We have had our very own chicks hatching in nursery and we also had Bowlands Farm come and visit us too! The children have learnt all about the lifecycle of a chicken and also how Farmers have to look after their animals.

The Scarecrow's Wedding by Julia Donaldson

Alongside our learning about farms we have been reading "The Scarecrow's Wedding". The children were fully immersed in the story, so much so that we held our very own scarecrow wedding where the children all played a part from Father of the Bride to official Photographer! We had a wedding ceremony, confetti, dancing and wedding cake - what a fabulous day!

Minibeasts!

The children in Nursery have loved learning about minibeasts. We have been reading 'The Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle and going on our very own minibeast hunts in our wildlife area. To develop our knowledge of minibeasts the children all chose their favourite one to make in the workshop area. We discussed what we knew about the minibeasts, whilst learning about their body features. The children then chose the correct colours and materials and learnt different ways to attach materials together.
