There are four children in KS1 receiving help from Mrs Hulley with their reading. Each child works with Mrs Hulley for half an hour every day for 20 weeks. Last year, the children who took part in the programme made at least twice the expected rate of progress with their reading and made higher than expected progress in their writing. Most children also have extensive help from their parents, who usually read with their child after school every day.
In addition, a few children in year 6 are getting help with answering comprehension questions to make sure they are ready for their Year 6 SAT's.
