PE is on a Thursday so please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school on this day. They need a white t-shirt, black shorts and all jewellery must be removed. Please can you name all items of PE kit and school uniform.
We send home menus with the following week’s choices on a Friday. Can you please help your child to choose their dinners for the week and return the menu to their class teacher on Monday morning.
If someone else is picking your child up from school can you please let a member of staff know when you drop them off in the morning or leave a message with the office.
Homework will go out on a Friday and needs to be returned to school the following Friday. Initially this will be based on the letter sounds we are learning in class. When your child is ready, a reading book will be sent home. Please read with your child as often as possible.
Over the next few weeks we will be teaching phase 2 sounds as our first introduction to reading. We use Jolly Phonics actions as a way of teaching the sounds in a fun, multi sensory way.

As soon as each set of letters is introduced, we will encourage children to blend words for reading. For example, they will learn the sounds s a t and blend them together to read the word sat. They will also start to learn to segment the words for spelling, for example finding the sounds to make the word tap out of magnetic letters.
