At times staff will work with children across the Foundation Unit and children are free to explore all areas of the Foundation provision, both indoors and outdoors.

Children are always registered and collected from their class base.

We are always happy to talk to  parents so if you have any questions please feel free to make an appointment to talk to a member of staff.

Reception has PE every Thursday so can you please ensure that your child has their PE kit with them on  these days. They need a t-shirt and shorts and all jewellery must be removed. Please make sure that your child’s name is on all items of PE kit and school uniform.

School Dinners

We send menus with the following week’s choices home on Friday. Can you please help your child to choose their dinners for the week and return the menu to their class teacher on Monday morning.

Home Time

If someone else is picking your child up from school can you please let a member of staff know when you drop them off in the morning or leave a message with the office.

This half term our topic is ‘Journeys’ and we are all really excited about playing in our new seaside role-play area! In our topic work we will be sharing the special journeys and holidays that we have been on. The children will be learning about different modes of transport and they will be choosing places that they would like to learn more about from around the world.

In literacy we will be reading stories by Julia Donaldson and using them to explore rhymes and write our own poetry. We will also be reading stories from around the world, such as Handa's Surprise, and using them as inspiration to write our own stories.

In numeracy we will be exploring: 2-D & 3-D shapes, weight, capacity, addition, subtraction and ordering numbers.
