Remembrance

Our Remembrance activities provide a time for reflection, gratitude, and respect. Through poetry, art, and discussion, pupils learn about the importance of remembrance and the sacrifices made by others in times of conflict. The whole school community comes together to observe a moment of silence, honouring those who have served and continue to serve today.

Also as part of our Remembrance celebrations, we were very lucky to have a visit from Martin Impey, the award winning illustrator of many beautiful and moving books, including The Christmas Truce: The Place Where Peace Was Found, Peace Lily, and many more.

Martin shared with us his fantastic books Flo of the Somme, Where the Poppies Now Grow, and Blitz. He spoke about the inspiration behind his illustrations and led wonderful draw-along workshops with the children.

It was an inspiring visit that helped us reflect on courage, kindness, and the sacrifices made by so many.

If you would like to purchase any of Martin’s books, you can do so via his website: https://martinimpey.com/shop
