Reception
Learning About Rosa Parks
Reception explored the inspiring story of Rosa Parks and the fight for equality and civil rights. The children learnt about her courage and the importance of standing up for what is right. Through a fun bus game, the children explored fairness and respect, bringing this important moment in history to life in an engaging and memorable way.
Games from the Past
Reception had a fantastic time discovering games from the past, including hopscotch! The children explored how children played in earlier times, learning about play, rules, and taking turns. It was a fun, hands-on way to connect with history and experience how life was different — and sometimes surprisingly similar — to today.
Guy Fawkes - Bonfire Night Celebrations 🎆🔥
This week in Reception, we have been learning all about Bonfire Night, Guy Fawkes, and the Gunpowder Plot. The children loved discovering why we celebrate the 5th of November with fireworks and bonfires.
They enjoyed sharing their own experiences of watching fireworks and used lots of imagination to create beautiful firework and bonfire paintings. Using bright colours, splatter techniques, and sparkle, the children made their artwork light up just like the night sky!
What a fun and creative way to celebrate Bonfire Night!
