As part of our Remembrance celebrations, we were very lucky to have a visit from Martin Impey, the talented illustrator of many beautiful and moving books including Where the Poppies Now Grow, Blitz, The Christmas Truce: The Place Where Peace Was Found, and Peace Lily. Martin shared with us the stunning picture book Flo of the Somme, which tells the story of a brave mercy dog named Flo who helps injured soldiers and animals on the battlefields of World War I, particularly during the Battle of the Somme.

It was an inspiring visit that helped us reflect on courage, kindness, and the sacrifices made by so many.
