Learning Resources

You will find lots of resources to support your child's learning at home.

Floppy's phonics

Learning to read is such an exciting part of your child's journey through school! We want to work together with you to help your child become a happy, confident reader.

Even spending just a few minutes each day sharing books, practising sounds and celebrating your child's achievements can make a big difference.

How do we teach reading at school?

Here at Whitecote, we use Floppy's Phonics, which is part of the Oxford Reading Tree programme. This helps children learn their letters and sounds step by step, building the skills they need to start reading and writing independently.

You can find Floppy's books, songs, lots of free reading activities and helpful advice on the Oxford owl webpage  https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

Happy Reading!
