The Pupil Premium is additional government funding designed to support disadvantaged pupils and ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. The funding is allocated to pupils who are eligible for free school meals, have been eligible at any point in the last six years, are looked after by a local authority or have previously been looked after. Schools also receive additional funding for children whose parents are serving in the armed forces. We use this funding strategically to remove barriers to learning, enhance wellbeing and secure the best possible outcomes for all pupils.
